SELKIRK hosted the second triathlon of the 2012 Borders Sport and Leisure Trust series last Sunday.

Seventy athletes took part in the course which consisted of a 1,500m swim, 39km cycle and 10km run.

Ewan Jackson, chief executive of BSLT, said: “It is brilliant to see our triathlon series continuing to attract such strong support.

“Training for and competing in a triathlon can be exceptionally rewarding and we are delighted that more people than ever are choosing to get involved.”

The BSLT series continues to Peebles on June 10, followed by Hawick (July 1), Kelso (August 12) and Eyemouth (September 23).

Each stage also includes a ‘Come & Tri’ shorter version of the triathlon to encourage those who have not attempted the event before to take part.
