Lucy and Izzy so close to Pas De Deux win

Scottish Border Vaulters (SBV) made the long but successful journey to Bishop Burton near Hull for the British Equestrian Vaulting Championships.

Among the best performances was Lucy Yonger and Izzy Kyle’s second place in the Pas De Deux behind the reigning world and European champion and her sister.

Results: Intermediate team section – 2, Kellie Grieve, Tiarna Harvey, Emily Nimmo, Lucy Younger, Izzy Kyle, Sam Kyle, Katy Nimmo; vaulting on Zigourney, lunged by Helen Rogerson.

Novice – 2, Sam Corson, Eilidh Steel, Kate Horne, Karrie Petty, Samantha Martin, Minta Younger; vaulting on Green Ash, lunged by Margie Younger.

Pre-novice – 3, Emma Knox, Georgia Buchan, Minta Younger, Duncan McFadyen, Callum Steel, Katy McFadyen; vaulting on Green Ash, lunged by Margie Younger.

Fun Walk – 2, Emma Knox, Georgia Buchan, Minta Younger, Duncan McFadyen, Callum Steel, Rory McFadyen; vaulting on Green Ash, lunged by Gillian McFadyen.

Pas De Deux – 2, Lucy Younger/Izzy Kyle; vaulting on Zigourney, lunged by Helen Rogerson; 8, Samantha Martin/Sam Kyle; 9, Kate Horne/Karrie Petty.

14 to 18 individual male – 4, Sam Corson; Under 14 female - 19, Eilidh Steel.

Walk pairs – 2, Emma Knox/Georgia Buchan; 4= Cheryl Marchbank/Kellie Grieve and Duncan/Katy McFadyen.

Nine and under walk individuals – 1, Minta Younger; 5, Katy McFadyen; 7, Callum Steel; 12, Rory McFadyen.

10 to 14 class – 4, Duncan McFadyen; 14 plus – 2, Cheryl Marchbank.

Another highlight was the South of Scotland Select (SSS) advanced team, winning their class to become British champions.

SSS consists of vaulters drawn from SBV and Reivers vaulting groups. Vaulting with the team from SBV were Ann Stark, Katy Nimmo and Lucy Younger also in the team were Angus Runciman, Stacey McPherson, Rebecca Kinghorn and Shannon Purvis.

Izzy Kyle also vaulted for the SSS junior team, who were second in their class.
