Langholm edged out in Junior Cup

Langholm almost pulled off a shock win in their Junior Cup match on Sunday after looking to have no chance at one stage.

Hosts Appleby II made an impressive 168 for 3 in their first innings, and Langholm replied with 131 for 4, and being more than 30 runs short were made to follow on and managed 101 for 6. Appleby needed only 65 to win, which looked a formality, but in the end just made it to clinch victory on 67 for 8.

Once again, Gregor Masterton led by example in the batting, reaching his second 50 of the weekend before being bowled out for 55 in the first innings.
