LANGHOLM gained a nine-wicket victory at the Castleholm last Saturday after dismissing Selkirk for 54, writes John Smith.
The Selkirk openers looked settled, but a change in the bowling order saw the wickets begin to tumble.
Greg Fenton was caught by Chris Stewart off Steven Johnstone for 14 and then visiting skipper John Everett (1) went lbw to Colin Turk.
Rory Banks then fell to Turk for a duck and the same bowler collected the wicket of Thomas Penman (10).
Turk was playing his first match of the season and grabbed the fourth wicket of John Graham for a duck.
Darren Fenton showed some resistance before being caught by John Reid off Stewart for 13.
David Little picked up a couple of the tailenders’ wickets, including Ian Buckley for six.
The final visitors wicket fell when Jack Pool hurled in a ball from the boundary to smash the wickets and dismiss Ian Gardiner (1), and Selkirk were all out for 54 in the 30th over. In the home bowling, Turk finished with four for eight in eight overs.
Langholm opener Andrew Bell was bowled by Greg Fenton for 13. Gregor Park had a fine 36 and Turk hit his six for the winning runs.
Greg Fenton finished with bowling figures of one wicket for one run in two overs.
