KELSO moved to joint top of the Border Reserve League with Langholm after beating the Muckle Toon by 29 runs at Shedden Park.

The hosts batted first and made 215 for 7 from their 40 overs. Openers Ian Flannigan (53) and Mark Henderson (75) put on a century stand before Tim Wightman (30) added more runs.

In reply, the game looked set for a close finish, as Jamie Ashton-Smith (16), Gregor Masterton (33) and Chris Stewart (42) started the Langholm innings well.

But wickets fell regularly despite 42 from David Little and the visitors were eventually all out for 186 in the 36th over.

Meanwhile, Manderston defeated Gala by four wickets after bowling out the Braw Lads for just 78.

All Border League action was washed out last Saturday.
