ETTRICK FOREST RIDERS’ ASSOCIATION (EFRA) held its annual show on Sunday at Springwood Park, Kelso, horses really appreciating the good going.

Judges were highly complimentary about the standard of riding in the dressage, classes being won by several new names. The host club was well represented in the prizes by Angela Barrowclough, Lindsay Dun, Angus Adams and Wendy Bell.

The working hunter qualifier was judged by Karen Redfearn who found her champion for the Fun Too Salver in the novice class winner Player, home bred and produced by Delia Job. Angus Adams and Sequence was reserve, having won the qualifier for the Scottish and Northern Equestrian/BHS Scotland Riding Club Working Hunter Championships at Blair Castle.

The nursery section was won by Clive Storey, riding a coloured horse called Spot, from Jo Luton on Presenting Edward.

The club’s second round of the Summer League Showjumping also took place. Victorious were Darkwood Peri with Marita Gibson, Jimbo (Katie Dun), Willow Glen (Angela Barrowclough) and Violet (Lucy Simpson).

The club is grateful to those who came to help beforehand in the setting up on the day and with the Monday night clear-up.
