Good teamwork shown by youngsters

A talented squad of 17 from Fjordhus Reivers travelled to Dundee last Sunday to take part in Pool A of the Scottish Hockey National U16 club competition.

Workrate, commitment, determination, desire and respect were the foundations of the team, making them a challenging prospect for their opposition.

Iona Kellett captained the Fjordhus girls and led by example from start to finish.

Jenny Sharp, Kira Renilson, Sarah Ferguson and Eilidh Pearce all stepped up from the U16 club development squad to make their debut and showed excellent maturity and decision making. The Borderers played three one-hour games against clubs from West, North and East Districts.

The experience and pitch time for the Reivers girls was invaluable to their individual and team development and their teamwork throughout the day was outstanding.
