Going for silver

THE historic Selkirk Silver Arrow will once again be contested this Sunday.

The event takes the form of a double 180yd clout round for the gents, while it also incorporates the Philiphaugh Silver Arrow competition for ladies (over 120yds), and is hosted by Ettrick Forest Archers at Thirladean.

The club’s Alan Lindsay and Elaine Pearson will be attempting to defend the titles they won last year, but they will be chased all the way by their ever-improving team-mates.

Anyone wishing to enter is asked to hand their entry form in to club co-chairman Mike Pearson by tomorrow.

The longbow enthusiasts muster at 10.30pm, with the first arrows soaring skyward at 11am.

Spectators will be made most welcome.
