Gala quintet make a splash at SNAGs

Five Gala ASC members, competing under the banner of the Borders Elite Swim Team, took part in the Scottish National Age Groups Championships (SNAGs) with some exceptional performances.

The small group had 17 swims, reached seven finals and collected a bucketload of personal bests.

Sarah Frizzell, with three swims, made the finals of the 50m (8th), 100m (6th) and 200m (7th) breast.

Lindsay Jack had six swims and made the finals of the 100m back (8th), 200m fly (9th) and 100m fly (8th) while Andrew Watt, making his SNAGs debut, had three swims, making the final of the 200m fly (8th).

Maili Brown had three exceptional swims and gained some PBs despite her preparation being hampered through injury, while the youngest member, Elsbeth Roper, also made her debut, and recorded excellent PBs in her first two swims.

The club would like to thank Lauren Jocelyn the BEST head coach for looking after the swimmers.
