KELSO Orchard Tennis Club has received a major cash boost to assist with its ongoing development programmes.
The 2012-14 youth/disability worker/coaching project at the club has been given £8,500 injection from The Robertson Trust (£7,000), Charity Begins at Home (£1,000) and Local Giving/Community Foundation match funding (£500).
This means that with the club’s continued fundraising and another generous gift aid donation, given anonymously, the three-year contract will be fully funded until the end of 2014 and the sink fund for facility replacement should reach the target levels on a year-to-year increasing basis as is required by Sportscotland and the LTA.
The club would like to thank all involved in the fundraising efforts.
They also wish to congratulate Alan Oliver, the disability sports development officer, for his huge achievement in European Para Badminton Championships and member Lucy Porteous, who carried the Olympictorch in Wales and who is a true ambassador for Kelso and the Borders at all the events to which she is invited.
