THIRTEEN one hundredths of a second was all that separated Kelso swim sensation Lucy Hope from a place in the 200m freestyle final at the European Junior Championships today.

Competing in Poland for Team GB Hope raced her semi-final at 4.15pm GMT but, despite recording a personal best of 2.03.94 minutes she missed the final by just one place.

After three days of intense competition the Kelso ASC and Borders Elite Swim Team member will now have a chance to rest tomorrow before beginning her quest in the 50m butterfly on Sunday.
