Reivers men looked to bounce back after a chastening cup defeat to Uddingston the previous week.
There were three changes to the team, with Dave Johnston, Jonathan Fletcher and Nick Jupp all adding experience.
Grange always provide tricky opposition, well organised and playing to a sound structure, but Reivers began the match with great pace, moving the ball well. It did not take long to make the breakthrough, good work from Graham Lofthouse found Callum Arnott at the back post for a tap in.
Grange galvanised themselves and mounted a series of attacks. They looked to be building pressure after winning a short corner only for hard running Dave Johnston to block the shot and setup the counter attack, the Reivers swept up field allowing Scott Girvan to flick home.
Reivers were now fully on top and two more goals from Mark Brebner and Lofthouse put them comfortably ahead at half time.
The second half began as the first had ended with the Reivers enjoying the bulk of possession, however clear cut chances were hard to come by. Grange created a series of chances but failed to take advantage of them as the Reivers defence worked hard to maintain a clean sheet.
The scoring was finished with best goal of the game, Lofthouse found Fletcher on the left who centered to Callum Murray to slot home at the back post.
Murray turned from hero to villain after a reckless lunge from the youngster produced a red card in the dying minutes.
