Dulux brushed off the opposition to win the Gala Cricket Club Sixes tournament on Sunday.
The firm managed to defeat Ladhope Golf Club in the final to claim the title which they deserved after winning all three games in Pool A.
The Golf Club had a less straightforward route to the final after winning an extraordinary four team bowl off.
All four sides in Pool B had the same record, including two draws in the last two games, but Stuart Yeomans hit the wickets in the bowl off to take the golfers through.
However, in a one sided final, Dulux emerged victorious.
Eight teams in total competed in the competition, with Bruce Henry of Dulux being named the tournament’s best player for his impressive batting performances.
Gala CC is now planning to make the Sixes an annual tournament again, having previously been run as the Pub Sixes before it was scrapped.
Tournament organiser Keith Irvine said: “Many thanks to all the teams who took part in a great day.
“We also have to thank the players and committee who volunteered to umpire, score, organise teams, run the bar and barbecue and prepare the pitch.
“Final thanks to Guy Frater at The Trophy Guy for the medals and best player trophy.”
Any player who enjoyed Sunday’s competition is encouraged to come along to the club on Friday nights to play for Gala Thirds, starting this Friday at 6pm.
