MACMILLAN Cancer Support (MCS) is holding a clay pigeon shoot at Braidwood on May 15 to mark its centenary.
With the support of main sponsors Alexander Inglis & Son Ltd (grain and agricultural merchants) and Braidwood Sporting Clays at Midlem, the principal event is for teams of four shooting a combination of sporting targets and a pheasant flush. For those unable to raise a team there will be an opportunity to enter the sporting shoot only as an individual competitor.
Prizes in four different individual classes – open, ladies, veteran (over-60) and junior (under-18) – will be presented on the day.
There will also be a come-and-try stand for anyone who would like to have a go.
Food and drink will be available from the Braidwood clubhouse and a prize raffle will run throughout the day.
There are several ways to support this day – entering a team (four people), entering as an individual, sponsoring a stand, providing prizes for the raffle or making a donation. The event is being organised by the MCS Peeblesshire committee and money raised will be used to provide services for Borderers affected by cancer.
