Langholm teenage gymnast Cara Swailes was in top form when competing for the first time at a higher level at Perth and finished with a gold and two silver medals.
Sixteen-year-old Cara started learning gymnastics several years ago at the local sports centre. She is now a member of the Y Gymnastics Club in Dumfries and travels there each week for coaching.
Cara was competing at level five for the first time at Perth and her dedication and hard work paid off with a superb gold medal after winning the beam.
She then finished in silver medal position in the vault.
Her tremendous contribution throughout the events, which included a fourth in the floor routine, gave her second place overall to collect the silver medal.
She will return to Perth next month with her club for a team competition.
