Capital race was tough

WITH the running conditions more like the Costa Del Sol than the usual April showers expected at this time of year, the thousands of runners who took part in this year’s ADT Edinburgh half-marathon found the conditions tough along the scenic seaside route from Meadowbank to Musselburgh Racecourse.

It was, however, a very enjoyable, if exhausting day for Lauderdale Limpers and Gala Harriers.

Limpers results: Luke Gow 1.37.48; Gillian Millar 1.40.23; Kirsty Thomson 1.41.29; Nigel Robinson 1.43.38; Graeme Sutherland 1.43.50; Sandy Cass 1.47.26; Ross Allan and Tommy Angus both 1.49.18; Susan Sutherland 1.57.51 and Claire Brennan 2.04.46.

Harriers results: Bob Marshall 1.28.28 (3rd in the 60+ males); Billy McCulloch 1.29.07; Chris Tiemessen 1.42.42; Gerry Moss 1.42.53; Fiona Shepherd 1.44.46 (3rd in age category); Alan Murray 1.53.46; Lisa Hogg 2.07.15.

Next Tuesday, the Limpers will be having a new members and comeback night and will also be presenting a cheque to Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland for their fundraising in 2010/2011.

Everyone should meet at Lauder Leisure Centre at 7.30pm.
