KIELDER Trail Reavers are having the first of a series of trail builds in Kielder on Sunday, May 13, and volunteers are needed to help build a new section.
The work will extend a section of trail called Capon Hassock that was opened earlier this month on the Lonesome Pine trail.
As a volunteer trail builder you get the satisfaction of knowing you contributed to making some fine single track.
Also, as a bonus, if you attend three trail builds you get a parking permit from the Forestry Commission for the Kielder car parks and if you manage five you get a permit for the North England Forestry Commission area which includes Hamsterley, Whinlatter, Grizedale and Gisburn.
The Forestry Commission is kindly providing lunch for those attending on Sunday, May 13. All equipment is provided by the Reavers. No particular skills are required, just be prepared for physical work, as much or little as you want to do. You can stay for as long as you want. Typically, a build may last three to four hours.
