Last week saw Ettrick Forest finally get their get the league campaign under way and on a good dry night the home side got off to a good start and overcame a Peebles side by 81-69.

The combined seniors are still struggling to find their feet this season with another two defeats away to Kelso by one shot and away to Jedburgh by 16 shots.

Saturday saw a good entry for the Farmers Triples and on a good afternoon the triples skipped by P. Houston and S. Bell were defeated in the semi-finals.

In the final, D. Sandilands, G. Sandilands and C. Sandilands (skip) defeated R. Pringle, F. Forster and T. Brown (skip) in a last-end thriller.

The club would like to thank the sponsors for their continued support. Sunday saw the men’s club pairs take place with E. Roberts (skip) and I. Yardley defeating C. Sandilands (skip) and M. Moody in the final by one shot.

Over at Selkirk Bowling Club, Sunday saw the Jolly Bowler tournament played in glorious conditions.

The winner was Tommy Reilly, who beat Colin McKinnon in a good final.
