Bishop and Livingstone win

JEDBURGH Badminton Club held its first tournament of the season last Wednesday night when 22 players took part in a handicap event.

Eventual winners Paul Bishop and Violet Livingstone reached the final by beating Rob James and Myra Younger 21-12 at the semi-final stage.

The other finalists were Gareth McRae and Carolyn Higgingson, who overcame Craig Pollock and Ann Wild, also by 21-12.

The final was the best of three ends, with Bishop and Livingstone winning the first two 27-25 and 21-17 respectively to take the glory.

The club meets every Wednesday at Jedburgh sports centre from 7-10pm.
