Wilson’s 31st edges Rovers through

Langholm Legion 0

Tweeddale Rovers 1

WALLS CUP QUARTER-FINAL

TWEEDDALE came out on top thanks to Grant Wilson’s 31st goal of the season.

Langholm started well with Tweeddale conceding two early corners, but both times the ball was headed wide.

Tweeddale started to come into the game with Simon Warren causing the Muckle Toon defence all sorts of problems.

The score locked at half-time, Rovers upped the tempo with 20 minutes to go and took a deserved lead when Wilson headed over the Langholm keeper.

Chris Cassidy was unlucky not to double the Peeblesshire side’s score when some great play saw his shot rebound off the post.

Langholm pressed forward late in the game, but visiting keeper Bob Hall produced two great saves to book Tweeddale a place in the semi-final.
