Trebles for Legion and Waverley

Langholm Legion 3

Hawick Waverley 3

BAL DIVISION A

IN WHAT turned out to be a free scoring encounter, Dean McColm put Waverley in front in polishing off a good passing move involving Taylor Hope, Ross McLeod and Ross Wallace.

Langholm equalised through Robert Davidson, but McColm soon restored Waverley’s lead in making no mistake with a penalty after a Legion man had
handled.

The homesters got on a level pegging before half-time when Martin Tomlinson shot
home.

Midway through the second half Taylor Hope got his name on the Waverley score sheet with a thundering shot.

Waverley were then reduced to 10 men when goalkeeper Euan Reilly was red-carded for bringing down a Langholm attacker, outfield player Scott Craig going in goal.

Langholm in turn went on to snatch an equaliser through Craig Cuthbert.
