High-flying Stow secured a surprisingly comfortable win at the usually difficult Hearts of Liddesdale.
Ryan Clapperton’s low drive was turned into his own net by Ryan Cuthbert on 15 minutes and it was 2-0 after 26 minutes as Martin Gibson’s 20-yard shot squeezed under Mike Rome.
Bruce Hunter made it three when he rounded Rome from a Kev Rutherford pass on 64 minutes, before Doug Henry’s header hit the post in the final minute.
Meanwhile, Hearts of Liddesdale claim their existence is being threatened by a rule which does not allow players to turn out for teams in Scotland and England.
The club says it has players who wish to play for the Newcastleton side as well as an English team on a Sunday.
John Lamont MSP has written to the Scottish and English football associations asking for dispensation.
