Teries get their revenge

Earlston Rhymers 1

Hawick Legion Rovers 1

BAL DIVISION C

After having been outgunned by Earlston the previous week, Hawick Legion Rovers blasted back to snatch a creditable draw.

Rovers started brightly and Neil Storey squandered an early chance when blasting a shot over the bar from a Chay Caldwell corner.

Storey soon made amends, racing in to round Rhymers’ keeper Lee Manderson and shoot into an empty net after being fed by an Andrew Tinlin pass.

Rovers showed up well for the remainder of the first half, but following the changeover, Earlston started to make their mark.

Young Rovers keeper, Kerr Brown was in tremendous form and put up the shutters with a string of brilliant stops.

With quarter of an hour remaining, Rhymers got on level terms, but minutes later the woodwork robbed Hawick of a second when Caldwell rattled the upright with a thundering 25yd drive following good work by Lewis Telfer.
