STIRLING went one better than the previous week when recording a convincing win over Gala Fairydean Rovers in a South Challenge Cup third-round clash at Netherdale.
Ryan Millar was the hat-trick hero, with Chris Geddes notching the other two in an impressive victory following a sluggish start with the home side scoring first.
Gala indeed got off to a bright start and after near misses from Des Sutherland and Jamie Gibson, constant pressure on the visitors’ goal allowed the former to unleash a spectacular volley from 30 yards to put his team in front on the half hour.
It didn’t take long for the equaliser to come, however. Ten minutes, in fact, when, from a corner kick, Geddes calmly slotted a low shot past Fairydean keeper John Dodds.
Things changed dramatically after the break, as Gala appeared to wilt and the university side took full advantage.
