Selkirk FC are looking for a morale-boosting lift tomorrow when Whitehill Welfare pay a visit to Yarrow Park (3pm).
Selkirk’s last chance of picking up some silverware this season was blown out of the water by a high-flying University of Stirling outfit in a King Cup clash last Saturday.
Playing at Yarrow Park, Steve Forrest’s men put in a good first-half performance, despite being six men down due to the Easter break, and it was level-pegging at the break – thanks to a goal in the 39th minute from Ryan Scott.
Two quick-fire efforts from the visitors closed the game out in the second half, however, leaving the Yarrow Park trophy cabinet rather bereft for yet another season. Final score: 3-1.
The Souters were beaten 3-0 by the same team when playing a Lowland League fixture at Gannochy Sports Centre on Tuesday night.
