Selkirk record first league win

SELKIRK grabbed their first win of the season on Saturday, thanks to a Phil Addison header on the half-hour.

Heavy rain made for a dismal afternoon at Rosewell but, for the travelling Selkirk support, a chink of sunlight came in the 27th minute when Addison headed a long ball over outrushing Whitehill keeper Bryan Young.

For most of the remainder of the game it was backs to the wall for the Souters who only managed the occasional break, while Whitehill battled desperately for an equaliser.
