FOLLOWING his team’s ninth consecutive Lowland League defeat Selkirk FC manager Mike McKinnon has announced he will be standing down.

The Souters were beaten 4-0 at home yesterday by Gretna 2008 and for McKinnon, who took over the position from Bryan Templeton two years ago, it was just one big defeat to many.

“I have tried everything but have found myself saying the same thing to players every week and it is not getting through,” he told TheSouthern.

“I have tried my best and giving everything but it has not worked out.”

McKinnon will stay on at Yarrow Park for two weeks to allow the club to find a replacement.
