Kelso United have named Scott Dowie as their new manager.
The former Kelso goalkeeper from Dunbar steps up from his role as assistant manager to replace Prof Blaikie, who took charge of the team for the last time in Saturday’s 3-3 draw with Stirling University EoS.
This is Dowie’s first management job, although he has been coaching.
The experienced goalkeeper had spells with Queen of The South, Raith Rovers, Whitehill Welfare, Tranent Juniors, Hawick Royal Albert, Ormiston, Eyemouth, Coldstream and three spells at Kelso United as a player.
Dowie said: “I am very much looking forward to the challenge and can’t wait to get started.”
Kelso United chairman Mike Tait said: “We welcome Scott in his new role and wish him well. The club would also like to acknowledge Tom (Prof) Blaikie for his commitment and dedication over the past five seasons as Kelso United manager.”
Blaikie won’t be lost to the club altogether, however. He will still coach the under-17s.
