Rovers wave off Teries

Tweeddale Rovers 3

Hawick Waverley 1

SOUTH CUP THIRD ROUND

ROVERS got off to a flying start when Simon Warren netted with just two minutes gone.

The remainder of the first half failed to conjure up any more goals, but with four minutes of the second period gone, Tweeddale netted again through Craig Collins.

Waverley came rallying back and Ross Wallace reduced the leeway after Neal McConnell had flicked on a Taylor Hope corner kick.

Not long after this Waverley were reduced to 10 men when Andrew Maltman was given his marching orders for a second bookable offence.

Minutes from time, Tweeddale sealed victory when Grant Wilson tucked away a penalty.
