DESPITE some early pressure from Rovers, three goals in quick succession all but ended this first division tussle as a contest.
James Brydon opened the scoring for Duns, Michael Robinson being the provider, and, from an almost identical situation, Gary Renton slotted the ball home to make it two. Steven Burns managed to spring the trap and chip visiting keeper Chris Malcolm to put the home side 3-0 up at the interval. Peebles started the second half as they had done the first and this time a good build-up led to Frankie Arthur slotting home his third goal in two games.
Any thoughts of a comeback were dashed, however, when Greig Shortreed was red-carded for dissent.
Burns quickly added a fourth goal for Duns with a superbly-placed chip over Malcolm. Peebles never gave up and Duns keeper Scott Lumsden was forced to pull off a string of fine saves to prevent further scoring.
