This was not the most pleasing of wins for Peebles, with Duns enjoying the bigger share of possession, but once again it was job done for John O’Hara’s men on Saturday.
Despite being in control throughout the opening stages, the Dingers went behind after 25 minutes with a deflected shot from Lee Zavaroni which eluded Paul Tansy in the Duns goal.
The second half continued in much the same manner with the visitors having most of the possession, but again they were unable to convert their pressure into goals with Peebles keeper Darren Walker keeping his team in the game with a tremendous display throughout.
The points were sealed for Peebles when Chris Flockhart scored a second goal after 80 minutes.
Peebles will be glad with a further three points to strengthen their place at the top of the division, albeit a smash and grab display from the league leaders.
