A GOAL headed by Craig Edgar right on full-time secured Peebles’ passage through to the next round of the King Cup.

It was the home side who started strongly and the Duns ‘keeper was kept busy in the opening stages, but, it was the Dingers who took the lead on 13 minutes with a Michael Robinson strike.

Rovers levelled the match on 25 minutes through Scott Sutherland, but once again Duns responded well and Robinson notched his second goal to give Duns a 2-1 half-time lead.

The visitors had the better chances to put the game beyond doubt in the second half, but failed to take them, and in the 83rd minute the referee awarded a penalty against Duns captain Gary Renton.

Jason Darling tucked away the spot-kick to square the match, but the best was yet to come and in the 90th minute Craig Edgar found himself totally unmarked to head home the winner.
