New triathlon bridges the gap

Tweed Triathlon Club hosts the inaugural Borders and Bridges event on Sunday, September 6.

Based at the Swan Centre, the sprint distance race starts with a 500m pool swim before athletes change to their bikes for a 22km ride passing through East Ord, crossing the border into Scotland towards Paxton, and returning via another border crossing at Horncliffe’s Chain Bridge.

Competitors then follow a 5.4km run route through the Goody Patchy in Tweedmouth, before heading for a loop of the walls via the Old Bridge.
