Home Town: Hawick
Position/Discipline: Midfield, centre or wing
Teams: Hearts FC and Hawick High School
Coaches: Charles Pearce, John Reilly, Thomas Clark and Mick McEwan
Best moment in sport so far: Scottish Schools Under-15s last year when I went to Wales and played in the Bob Docherty tournament against Wales, Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, then playing England for the first time at Under-15 level. Also, when Hawick High School won the Scottish Shield. These were moments I’ll never forget
Aims for the next 12 months: Continuing playing with Hearts and win both the league and Scottish Cup, stay in the South East regional squad and also develop my game and progress into the Under-17s national team
How does the ASP help you most: It allows me to get one-to-one strength and conditioning training twice a week to make me physically stronger in my game
Who in sport most inspires you: Julie Fleeting as she plays for Arsenal Ladies and the national team, and I would like to follow in her footsteps in the sport
FavOURITE sporting moment of all time: Women’s World Cup Final in 2011 – USA vs Japan – when it went to extra time and penalties. The most exciting game I’ve ever seen. I was screaming at the tv and couldn’t sit still.
Best thing about your sport: Winning games and trophies and in general just getting to meet new people from different areas and making new friends.
... but dislike: When the season is finished – I miss competing. Also having to travel to Edinburgh three days a week.
If not in this sport, would like to compete in: Hockey. I had to give it up due to my commitment to football.
Usual pre-competition meal: Soup or pasta dish and a banana and a Mars Bar.
Food dislikes: Salad and some vegetables.
Best motivational song or track: Most artists apart from mosh.
... but turn off/leave the room to: Any mosh music.
Competition superstition or odd routine: Have a banana before each game, always wear a hairband, take the same water bottle to every game with a Powerade or Lucozade, and getting everything ready for a game the night before.
When not competing or training I like to: Relax and watch tv, kick a ball about outside or practise skills, go out with friends or go to the gym. Always doing something, I hate being bored.
