A STUNNING strike by Brad Lochrie was the highlight of last Thursday’s friendly match between the two Galashiels’ teams at Netherdale.

In a game played in three 30-minute sections, Rovers started brightly but were unable to break through ‘Spurs defence, led by Richard Ramage.

Dougie Bond opened the scoring in 38 minutes before Lochrie’s 30-yard strike flew into the top corner of the net to make it 2-0. Shaun Hardie added a third before Luke Geirus clawed back a goal with 10 minutes remaining.

However, Kevin Matheson scored a fourth just two minutes from time to give Rovers a deserved win, although their opponents competed well against the Division A side.
