Gala Fairydean Rovers 0
LIVINGSTON cruised to four goal victory against Gala Fairydean Rovers at Netherdale last night.
Two first half strikes from Callum Fordyce and Kyle Lander put a full-strength Championship side on easy street on front of a 300-strong crowd.
Injury-hit Gala had keeper John Dodds to thank for a string of fine saves. Livi player coach Mark Burchill played the last half hour but could not find the net despite a couple of blocked efforts.
Sixteen year old sub Kerr Scott came closest for Gala with a 20 yard shot which cleared the bar by inches.
But it took until the 79th minute before the visitors added a third through a Danny Mullen curler from the edge of the box.
And Jack Downie completed the scoring with three minutes by remasining by picking his spot in the bottom corner.
It was an excellent work out for both sides with Livi idle for a fortnight due to the international break.
Gala have a derby match against Lowland League rivals Selkirk this Saturday.
Gala manager Steven Noble said: “We had a young side out against a quality Championship side. But the players showed
great discipline and determination. It was a great experience for them.”
