JED navigated a tough away fixture last Saturday to keep themselves at the top of the Border Amateur Division B table.

The visitors scored twice inside a minute midway through the opening half, a target that proved just too much for struggling Linton.

Firstly, a Terry Marshall cross was turned into the net by a Linton defender and then, straight from the restart, the home side were dispossessed in midfield and Dean Jeffrey rolled in strike partner Daniel Gillie, whose angled shot found the bottom corner.

Gillie scored his second from the penalty spot midway through the second period.

Linton reduced the deficit with a smart turn and shot with 15 minutes remaining, but Jed’s defence held firm to seal all three points and extend their lead at the top of the league.
