Last-gasp goal gives Rovers redemption

East Kilbride2

Gala FDR3

GALA FAIRYDEAN ROVERS picked up a welcome three points in the dying minutes of this Lowland League clash at an impressive-looking K Park.

The visitors got off to a whirlwind start on their first visit to East Kilbride, Des Sutherland finding the bottom corner of the net before Jamie Gibson slotted home a penalty when Sean Paliczka was brought down in the box.

Home left back Gerard Traynor was subsequently red-carded, but the sending off only served to galvanise the home side and Stephen Bronsky punished some sloppy marking when drilling a low shot into the net.

Disaster struck in the 67th minute when Gala keeper John Dodds took his eye off the ball and a pass back from Jason Inglis rolled under his foot and across the line.

Callum Jardine had the final say with a dramatic injury-time strike to ensure a long, but happy journey back to Galashiels.
