Last chance saloon for Souters

Selkirk are anchored at the bottom of the Lowland League table, and in various cup competitions the Yarrow Park side have been unable to make their mark, writes John Slorance.

All is not lost, however, as the Souters still have one more throw of the dice in the form of the King Cup.

On Saturday, they get the opportunity to pursue this aim by locking horns with University of Stirling in a second-round tie. Following their 4-0 defeat at the hands of Edinburgh City in their last outing, Steve Forrest’s side shall be going all-out to prove a point or two.

Kelso United will also be hoping to teach Stirling students a lesson. The Tweedsiders travel to face Stirling University in an East of Scotland League Cup match. United have Elliot Turnbull back from suspension.

In the Lowland League, Vale of Leithen entertain Whitehill Welfare at Victoria Park.

Hawick Royal Albert square up against Eyemouth United at Albert Park. The Albert are at the foot of the league, with Eyemouth nestling a place above them. Michael McKenzie and Shaun Fallan return to the Hawick squad.

Peebles Rovers make the trip to Fife to clash with Burntisland Shipyard.
