Eyemouth United 2
Hawick Royal Albert 5
In a ding dong Image Printers Cup encounter that brought about goals galore, as well as some entertaining football, Hawick drew first blood by sailing into the lead in the ninth minute through Kevin Strathdee, writes John Slorance.
Albert edged further ahead with eight minutes of the second half gone when Declan Hogg hit a cross over the face of the goalmouth and Mickey Smith stabbed home from close range.
Midway through the half, Eyemouth reduced the leeway when Stuart Coyle drove a Steven Shennan cutback past Hawick keeper Dean Fry and two minutes later United got on level terms when Martin Tait scored with a well-struck drive.
But with 16 minutes remaining, an Andy Watson shot cannoned off the post, and Albert substitute Peter Keenan tucked away the rebound.
Fellow sub Greg Johnston and Keenan added further goals to secure a fine Hawick win.
