Hutchison goal sends Kelso into final

Lauder 0

Kelso 1

SBJFA UNDER-17s CUP SEMI-FINAL

A VERY late referee and a soaking pitch failed to deter both teams in a game which was ultimately decided by a late goal.

Both teams went at it from the start, but it was Kelso who took control.

They had plenty of possession and created some good chances, but couldn’t take advantage of the fact that Lauder were playing without a proper goalkeeper.

Lauder were still dangerous on the counter attack, but the Tweedsiders’ defence stood firm and keeper Connelly was in commanding form.

With the light fading, and extra time on the cards, Ewan Hutchison slammed home from outside the box to send the away fans into a frenzy.

Kelso seemed to panic after their goal when Lauder applied some pressure.

However, they held out to book their place in the final on Sunday against Hawick.
