High-five Hawick

Eyemouth Amateurs 2

Hawick United 5

WALLS CUP FIRST ROUND

UNITED broke the deadlock when Ross Scott notched his 15th goal of the season by driving home a Sean Owens pass.

Owens then got his name on the scoresheet, beating the Eyemouth keeper with a well-struck drive from outside the box following good play by Luke Shanley.

After being set up by Sammy Burton, Kevin Strathdee stretched United’s lead at the start of the second half.

The Fishermen reduced the leeway via a free kick, but Hawick soon restored their three-goal advantage through a Sean Clark strike.

The homesters bagged a second goal, however, United had the final say when Kevin Strathdee notched the goal of the game with a glorious shot.
