ALTHOUGH they had their moments, Royal Albert ended up on the wrong end of this result.

Defensive errors and failure to cash in on goal-scoring opportunities led to Hawick’s downfall.

Thistle took the lead in the first half when Lloyd Dignan headed home a Gary Morrison cross. Two minutes later, Omar Ali slotted away a second for Lothian, after having intercepted a pass-back intended for Albert keeper Liam Robertson.

Following the interval, they sealed victory when Kevin Lee floated over a cross and Jamie Hawkins did the rest in scoring with a header.

Hawick reduced the leeway through a strike from substitute Kyle McCulloch.
