Tweeddale Rovers 4
Chirnside United 3
BAL DIVISION A
TWEEDDALE Rovers goalkeeper Bob Hall saved a last-minute Chirnside United penalty in a superbly entertaining game in Peebles.
Ross Meikle opened the scoring from a corner after 20 minutes and Grant Wilson doubled Tweeddale’s score when his free kick found the bottom corner of the net.
Chirnside pulled one back from the penalty spot after Blair Moffat fouled and the Berwickshire side added two further goals to give them a 3-2 half-time lead.
Both Simon Warren and Moffat should have scored for Tweeddale, but it was not until five minutes from time that Rhys Evans grabbed an equaliser.
Nick Rogers then smashed a header home from a Evans cross, but keeper Hall missed a high ball and Moffat was sent off for handball on the line.
However, Hall redeemed himself by saving the resultant penalty to secure Tweeddale all the points.
