Gretna 20083

There is no love for Gretna at Gala Fairydean Rovers, after the border side came out on top against the Netherdale men yet again.

Gretna have defeated Gala four times this season, with their latest triumph dumping their opponents out of the League Cup.

Gretna, who finished third in the Lowland League, dominated early on in the game and took the lead on 51 minutes when Iain Anderson headed in Michael McAnespie’s corner, but Gala struck back within six minutes as substitute Kyle Collins fired in after good work by Callum Jardine and David Bonnar.

Anderson restored Gretna’s advantage on 61 minutes and Gala struggled to make an impact for the remainder of the game.

Daniel Graham could have finished the tie, but hit the post, before Brandon Longcake did seal the win for Gretna with a simple finish from an Anderson cross two minutes from time.
