PLAYED in atrocious conditions, both teams struggled to keep the ball in play in this Border Amateur B Division clash, particularly in the second half.
Gordon raced into a 2-0 lead in the opening 45, both goals coming from Craig Livingstone, the first via the penalty spot.
Livingstone’s original spot kick was well saved by Jack, but the ball rebounded straight back to the striker and he made no mistake with his second attempt.
There was more than a hint of handball in Livingstone’s second as he outjumped two defenders to steer the ball into the top corner, with the Jed players adamant that he used his hand, but referee Wallace awarded the goal.
Jed got back into the game with a well-taken strike from Luke Spiteri.
The second half was farcical as both teams struggled to deal with the gale-force wind and there was no further scoring.
