Fourth round
glory for Souters

Selkirk under 20s put the nightmare trip of the week previous behind them to reach the fourth round of the Scottish Youth Cup.

On their first attempt to travel to play Banks O’Dee in the third round, the bus hit some oil and slid off the road into a fence. However, there were no slip-ups this time as first half goals from Ryan Ward and Marc Valentine, and strikes from Ewan Munro and Liam Henderson after the break gave them a 4-2 victory. They will play Premiership side Hamilton Accies’ Under-20s at New Douglas Park on December 7 – the first time a Selkirk FC side has reached such a high stage of a national tournament.
