Feline lucky?

Peebles Rovers entertain Coldstream in an East of Scotland First Division match at Whitestone Park on Saturday and Rovers manager Stuart Robertson is hoping that his side will have better fortunes than they did in their away clash with Gretna 2008 last weekend, writes John Slorance.

He told TheSouthern: “I didn’t run over a black cat in my car on the way to Gretna, but I might as well have done. I will be looking for a lot better luck this week. However Dale Uley, James Howe and Paul Hunter will all be missing because of their injuries and Ricky Cairns will be suspended. That sure doesn’t do anything to help us.”

Having ended a recent losing streak by gaining a draw with Coldstream, Kelso United square up to Craigroyston in Edinburgh.

Hawick Royal Albert will have Simon Philbin, Chris Batten and Mark Deans in their ranks for their tie against Leith Athletic and will field a trialist goalkeeper.

Gala Fairydean, Selkirk and Vale of Leithen travel to play Eyemouth United, Edinburgh University and Civil Service Strollers respectively.
