SPARKS are likely to fly at Woodside on Saturday when Gala Fairydean travel to play Kelso in a First Division encounter.

The Tweedsiders sit one point above their opponents in the middle of the table and both sides will be looking to improve their positions as the midway point approaches. Gala will be without Aaron Brunton, Craig Livingston and Gary Lothian, while Chris Black will be missing for Kelso.

With their place in the second round of the Scottish Cup secured, Vale are concentrating on the Image Printers Cup this weekend when they travel to play Edinburgh University, with a place in the semi-finals up for grabs.

Peebles travel to play Coldstream, while Selkirk and Hawick have no games due to cup ties taking priority.
