LANGHOLM finished the season undefeated in the Border League after beating Melrose by six wickets at the Castleholm last Saturday, writes John Smith.
Melrose were dismissed by 30 runs as home bowler Graham Park had a career best of 7 wickets for 5 runs in 6.5 overs.
Melrose opened the batting and completed 11 overs on 20 when Park took over.
Mirley went to a diving catch by Grant Fletcher, a
nd before the over was completed Sutherland was clean bowled for a duck.
Runciman was another to be quickly dismissed without scoring, and then Baird was caught behind the wicket by Gregor Park off his brother's delivery. Colin Turk secured the wicket of Loftus for a duck and Melrose were all out for 30.
Jack Pool and Neil Stewart opened the batting for Langholm, but Mirley saw off both for no score. Grant Fletcher joined Euan Wilson and the score reached 20 before the former was bowled by Ward. Sutherland clean bowled Wilson and it was 24 for 4.
Matt Pearn-Rowe and Gregor Park edged Langholm home.
